For many years I was very deliberate about not mixing my faith in God with my work life and the relationships built around business. It is true, hindsight becomes truly clear especially as I near the end of my business career. As I think back, this was a mistake on my part and often wonder about the lost opportunities to bring coworkers to Christ. I recently had a discussion with someone about this and the comment made to me was that the workplace is the single largest opportunity to introduce those that are non-believers to the peace that comes with being a Child of God. Again, as I get closer to retirement having Christ in my heart comforts me in knowing that it is not my will that matters, it is God’s will that is important. The need to focus on helping my children embrace Christ as their Savior is paramount to all other distractions. The need to have Christ in their life is key but to not make the same mistake as me and be the light we are intended to be throughout their professional careers. The balance of life is always tricky but if you can truly maintain your faith, family, and career in that order it seems to me that the beauty of life is at our fingertips.
