Many customers are requiring suppliers to be compliant to a Certification Standard that protects the customers data, the supplier’s data, and the ability of the supplier to deliver product to the Supply Chain. There is a cost associated with compliance as well as increased Liability Insurance, but these are now becoming requirements to be a supplier in most markets. In the recent past the focus was on DOD work but those days are gone. If you are in the manufacturing business and this is not top of mind you need to reevaluate your priorities. There are many businesses that have gone bankrupt because of the inability to pay the ransom for the data.
