The New Leader

The New Leader

As our states start to reopen and the businesses, restaurants and churches consider resuming operations is there a need for a New Leader? For the last 6 weeks as my wife and I have been getting to know each other again I believe that my priorities have changed as I listen each day to the new updates and pray for the families that have lost loved ones. The need to be a better father and husband has come center stage as I am forced to understand and appreciate what is most important in my life. The last 6 weeks has forced me to think about those that I love, the simplicity of sharing a meal with my family, sitting in church with my Son and his family has changed my idea of what is important. 2 short months ago I was consumed with starting up a consulting business and not as attentive to my Faith and Family. This is a balance I have struggled with most of my career. Often it takes an event to shake us to our core to understand that we work to take care of our families and in the end, no one will remember the day to day struggles of our jobs and careers. They will remember the time we spent together, the times we said we loved each other, the times in church, taking meals and just being together. The recent events have changed all of this. But as the leader of our families I believe compassion, humility, kindness and strength will rule the day. I believe these can also be core as business leaders if we choose to be different than 2 months ago.
